Task Forces

The Mason Sustainability Council’s (MSC) response to advance institutional sustainability is actively evolving as the council expands its efforts.

Circular Economy and Zero Waste Task Force

In the spring of 2021, the MSC launched the Circular Economy and Zero Waste (CEZW) Task Force to advance the university’s commitment to sustainability and make Mason a zero-waste university.

The CEZW Task Force’s work is expansive and focused on the institutional implementation of circular economies and zero waste infrastructure to lead Mason to zero waste – greater than 90% diversion from trash or incineration throughout the university’s operations. Additional task forces will be announced as soon as they are launched.
